Separate revision, recognised training, and the qualification you actually need

Sailors in Ireland may encounter Irish Sailing and RYA routes, plus separate radio and ICC requirements. Start with the intended use and provider; do not assume similarly named courses are equivalent or automatically accepted.

Define the outcome

Day sailing, skippering, chartering, commercial work, club racing, and radio operation can require different evidence. Ask the school, authority, or operator what it accepts before buying preparation.

Reuse without relabelling

Compass Ireland sells EUR access to selected existing RYA-aligned companions. The entitlement and syllabus stay the same; an Irish sales context does not turn them into Irish Sailing qualifications.

Practical competence remains external

Recognised instructors, schools, examiners, authorities, and operators control practical assessment, certification, document checks, and final acceptance.
