Qualification-system boundary

Course names can look familiar without being interchangeable

Irish Sailing and the RYA are separate organisations with their own recognised-provider, syllabus, assessment, and certification arrangements. Use each organisation's current documentation and ask the intended operator or employer what it accepts.

Compare outcomes, not labels

Look at prerequisites, knowledge outcomes, practical performance, duration, assessment method, certificate issuer, validity, and intended use. Compass does not declare equivalence.

Why Compass reuses entitlements

The Irish collection can make an existing RYA-aligned companion easier to buy in EUR without duplicating its course ID or implying an Irish Sailing mapping that has not been reviewed.

Confirm before relying

Charter operators, clubs, training centres, insurers, and employers can apply additional policies. Their acceptance decision is separate from the existence of a certificate.
