South African skipper certification depends on the applicable vessel, operating area, category, evidence, examination, and current SAMSA framework. Compass does not yet sell a South African course and does not award a skipper's ticket.

Confirm the correct category, prerequisites, medical or sea-service evidence, approved training or examination arrangements, and any vessel-specific limitation with current SAMSA material and a qualified local provider.

Why this remains a pilot

Compass requires qualified local review and demand evidence before proposing paid national content. International COLREGs knowledge may be useful, but it is not a complete South African jurisdiction overlay.

Ninety-day evidence gate

A paid proposal is considered only after at least 200 completed diagnostics, 50 consented product-interest leads, and three qualified local reviewer or partner conversations.
