- Distinguish meeting, crossing, overtaking and harbour or tributary movements, then identify the scope and waterway controls that govern the decision.
- Apply the normal port-to-port meeting rule, the upstream/downstream relationship and the additional controls for a narrow fairway without erasing small-craft scope.
