Compass Australia

Australian qualification choice

Choose AWQ or SROCP from the station and voyage

AWQ is an Australian-waters VHF pathway delivered through eligible RTOs. SROCP is the Australian internationally recognised VHF operator certificate and includes DSC/GMDSS knowledge. Neither covers every HF, satellite, surveyed-vessel, or overseas requirement.

AWQ

The Australian Waters Qualification is tied to its current national training-unit scope and official provider assessment. It must not be marketed as the same product as SROCP or as automatic international acceptance.

SROCP

The Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency covers marine VHF in the international framework, including DSC context. The Australian Maritime College manages the examination and certification framework.

Compass boundary

Compass supplies independent knowledge explanations and no-recording call rehearsal. It is not an RTO, AMC examiner, ACMA certificate, station licence, or substitute for equipment-specific instruction.
